Councillor, Entrepreneur, Advocate
I’m Luke Parker, your elected County Councillor for Preston East and the Group Whip for Reform UK at Lancashire County Council. Alongside my work in public service, I am also a successful businessman, running a growing company that employs local people and trades nationally and internationally.
Through building a business from the ground up, I’ve learned how to manage budgets, create jobs, and deliver real results under pressure. Those same principles guide my work in politics — because taxpayers deserve the same efficiency and accountability that successful businesses demand.
My Role & Responsibilities
I presently serve a term from 05/2025 to 05/2029. In my role I participate actively in several key committees:
Full Council — Helping shape major decisions and policies
Audit & Governance Committee (Lancashire Combined County Authority) — Overseeing transparency, financial accountability, and governance
Urgency Committee of the Full Council — Making time-sensitive decisions when needed
Additionally, I contribute through external bodies and partnerships:
LGA - Audit and Risk Assurance Committee
Central Lancashire Strategic Planning Joint Advisory Committee
Community Safety Partnership — Preston
Educational Foundation of John Farrington
My Vision & Priorities
I believe that real change starts locally. My key policy areas include:
Local democracy — Ensuring your voice is heard
Fiscal responsibility — Cutting waste, keeping taxes low
Community safety — Backing strong policing and anti-crime measures
Transparency & accountability — Ensuring decisions are visible and fair
Technology with sense — EG. Opposing overreach like Digital IDs without proper safeguards
Every decision I take is filtered through those values. My goal is not just to be a representative, but your representative, someone you can trust to stand up, ask tough questions, and deliver.
